Thankful Tree

I wanted something to put on the kid's table for Thanksgiving, so I came up with this "Thankful Tree" which is a variation of a couple different ideas I came across in blogland!  I love the way it turned out, and the best part...this project was COMPLETELY free since I used things I already had in my craft room or front yard...gotta love that!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Dinner With Mimi and Grandaddy!

My sweet parents came out from Southlake last night, to bring the turkey over that Ryan and I are cooking for Thanksgiving, and took the whole family to dinner at one of our favorite places, Kobe's Steak and Sushi.  It's such a treat to be able to spend time with them, and it's so nice now that the kids are older because they are active, willing, entertaining participants in the conversation!

Carter loves watching the hibachi chef perform!

He loves to perform as well!

My sweet parents...They are still so in love...

My handsome hubby...=)

My world...I am so grateful...

THIS is what life is all about...Family!

So Thankful...

So much to be thankful for....
  • Our children...They are precious, loving, and compassionate of others. I love the way they help each other when one needs it...The bond between our 4 boys is immeasurable.
  • My husband...He's all that I prayed for and more. I am continuously amazed by this man.  As a very close friend said the other night at dinner, our chemistry is "amazing and rare."
  • My parents...They have been such incredible role models in my life. They have taught me to finish what I start, hold myself responsible for my choices, and set my goals high because I am capable of acheiving exactly what I set out to do.
  • My in-laws...These 2 people are such a blessing to our family. No words can express my respect and gratitude for them.
  • My brother and sister and their kids...I cannot imagine without them...
  • My friends...They're awesome!
  • Food on our table and a roof over our heads...It seems silly, but there are people to whom this is a huge blessing or something they don't have at all.
  • Happiness and contentment right where I am...
This time of year is all about reflecting on all the things we have to be thankful for!  It helps you realize how blessed we all are...

I Love This Blog!!!

I LOVE THIS BLOG!!

This blog belongs to one of the most creative women I have ever come across!  You HAVE to check out Tater Tots and Jello!  Right now she is having a giveaway for the cutest advent calendar for Christmas, and I would LOVE to have one!  Check it out!

{The 24th has a silver star ornament that you can have your kids hang on the tree to symbolize the star of Bethlehem.} I love that idea!

If I don't win....which I am sure I won't, she has a few in her etsy shop!

Precious!!!

I Caved and Gave In...

I decorated for Christmas...well...only on my bog.  I couldn't help it...I still love you, Thanksgiving!

Weekend Recap!

Woke up to this little acrostic ditty from my hubby to start off the weekend...He's so romantic, sweet, thoughtful....I scored big time! =)

New Moon night out with the girls on Friday! I love these ladies! It's ALWAYS an adventure when we're together, and this night was no exception!  Jennifer (far left) is currently caring the "team" baby which I cannot wait to find out whether it's pink or blue...2 more weeks!

The weekend  included a 1 hour visit to the pet store where Trysten...my boys were at their father's....checked out some possible Christmas wish list choices...more on that wish list later!

Love these two! Checking out the hamsters!

Or maybe a guinea pig...Carter so wants one of these! They had little harnesses that you can put on them and take them for a walk!

I'm out on this choice!

This is a possibility...

Sorry, Trysten...Not another dog!

Later on we took a trip to Dave N Busters for some friendly competition...Can you say TESTOERONE?!!

Check out these sideburns! I asked him if I could braid them, but for some reason he wasn't interested...=)

Trysten's favorite part...cashin' in the tickets!

Good times!!! Have a great week!!!

Random Friday Humor!

Every once in awhile you receive a mass email that's worth reading....This is a list of random humor I received from a teacher friend. Enjoy!

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes - to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this thing I have -- ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer - drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the hell do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet, on any given Friday or Saturday night, more kisses begin with Bud Light than with a Kay jewelry product.

Precious Time...

I love the precious time I have with the boys while we get ready on school day mornings...They say and do the funniest things.  We talk, we laugh, we sing, we practice spelling words, we tell stories, we act silly...great times...=)

Happy Thursday!

ICE!

With Christmas just around the corner, Ryan and I have started talking about fun things we would like to take the boys to see and do.  Typically, The Polar Express train ride would be included in the must do's, but sadly we both agree the boys are getting older and something a little more active and interactive might be a better choice.  With that being said, we have decided to buy tickets for the whole family to attend ICE! at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine!  If you aren't familiar with this attraction, you must check out their website

From the ICE! website:

"From The Grinch's frozen mountaintop lair... to the 20-foot-high ice slides... to built-in photo opportunity stops... right down to the picturesque Who-ville, complete with smoking chimneys and feasting Whos... ICE! featuring How The Grinch Stole Christmas! will make even the coldest of hearts grow three sizes."

If you and your family have been to this before, what were your thoughts?  Is there a better time than another to go?  We cannot wait to take the kids!
